“Alright hey, that was the Jet way, wasn’t it?!  The passion and intensity, and that’s what’s gonna carry us through these darn playoffs, alright. Looks like we’re gonna play Indy. Well, here we come!” - Rex Ryan

Does it mean anything? Jets/Bills

I have been changing my stance all throughout the week on whether or not Sanchez should sit or start and if this game against the Bills has any significance.  I am still torn.

Last night I watched Rex Ryan’s conference on “Open Mic” and there were a couple of things that jarred me a little bit.  First off he seemed timid.  He is usually, as we all know, full of bravado and confidence and that seemed to be missing.  I might be looking into it too much but he was speaking as if he knows the Jets wont go far.  If you get a chance watch it.

The press conference started off with him giving the standard list of injuries and there is hardly anyone who doesn’t have some form of injury.  Now this isn’t alarming.  It is the end of the regular season.  Players at this point are pretty worn down.  And since this is the case why even risk putting our most valuable player on the field?  I always think divisional games are the roughest.  Your divisional opponents know you best and do you think the Bills defense wouldn’t love to end Sanchez’s season with an injury?

The other side of the coin is that Sanchez has not looked good after long periods of rest so sitting him doesn’t necessarily guarantee that it will benefit his performance in the playoffs.  Look at Baltimore, Packers and Patriots….games after more than a week of rest has resulted in him being confused and flat in his performance.  So what to do?

Obviously, putting him on the field does risk injury but I think playing the half will be good and will allow him to stay in whatever offensive groove he has going right now.  Even a quarter would be fine.  It might be nice to see what Brunell could do in case anything should happen to Sanchez in the playoffs. Beyond the offense I do need to see some plays made by the defense.  The Bills are no powerhouse team but it could be a good practice run against a passing team.  Fitzpatrick has a pretty good arm so it would be good to see the Secondary resemble some form of it’s old self and make a play this week…..I am looking at you Coleman and Cromartie!

As of right now I am hoping for the Chiefs.  I do not want to see Peyton Manning in the playoffs.  I don’t care how dinged up the Colts are.  When you have Manning on the field any team has a shot.

See you in the playoffs!

I hope he puts on a performance worthy of bowing in Chicago.

Holmes I am glad you had fun in your old home.
Jets back on track?  Maybe.
I liked Sanchez and his confidence today.  IF Slauson doesn’t make that stupid penalty the numbers look even better.
Thank you Schotty for committing to the running game.  You made some great calls today.
