Nothing like a little smack talk to fire up both teams for an upcoming game but this week needs to end.  The longer the Jets have a chance to give quotes the worse it is going to get.

We have all heard the Cro and Rex quotes talking about Brady and at first I was a little annoyed.  I didn’t understand how the Jets could talk nonsense after they lost by 42 points to the Pats 5 weeks earlier but the more I thought about it I was able to come to a couple of conclusions.

This is what the Jets wanted to be.  US against them.  They wanted to be feared and hated with the hopes that with other teams and media coming down on them they would become even stronger as a unit and believe in themselves.  They went 11-5…..I guess it worked.

Second thing is maybe Rex wanted Cro to rattle the cage.  The schemes that Jets came up with the last time the Jets played them were god awful.  The offense was not playing their normal game of running the ball and small dunks to Keller and the Defense was lost.  Maybe they needed something to build around.  For example, knowing Brady will now try to humiliate Cromartie the defensive coordinator and Rex can build defensive plays around those assumptions.

We can’t be sure but either way I hope the Jets know what they are doing.

It was good to see Keller involved in the game plan.  Sanchez just over threw him too many times.

Keller had a great game but that drop in the end zone might have been the nail in the coffin for this game.

I hope Schotty is back on the simple game plan. How did we win in the playoffs? Greene emerged, Keller was the go-to guy and now we have Holmes at our disposal.

Stick to that and wake up the defense and we should be alright.

Above are Jets TE Dustin Keller stats.  (Left 2009. Right 2010) As you can see Mike just makes stuff up. Keller has exceeded every stat from last season with three games still to play. 

How do you not love this?  Rex loves J.C. and America.

We all know it was a close game but I would like to point out that the Jets were favored by 4 points going into the game and they won by 3.  They were on the road against a tough team.

Be happy they walked away with a win.
