Rex Ryan on who Revis will cover: “Whoever we put him on is probably not a good thing for that person.”

Do you hear them? Already making mention of how the Jets have been lucky with wins this year and how they backed into the playoffs? Jets for the second year in a row are going to enter into the post season under Rex Ryan and Mark Sanchez. They have not accomplished a back to back entrance since ‘01 and ‘02. They could also still have 11 wins if they beat the Bills this Sunday. My prediction before the season was 11-5 so I am happy how things have worked out.
It doesn’t matter how you get into the playoffs. All that matters is that you have the chance to play in them. The Jets definitely need to fix some things before round 1 but my mind is at ease over the offense. Schotty seems to have gotten the game plan right the past two weeks. Sanchez will sit next week and give some time for that shoulder to heal. Maybe Brunell does alright against the Bills. Who knows and who cares?
What is it that is wrong with the Defense? How could a defense that was so dominating last year look the way they have in recent weeks? The Jim Leonhard injury has really damaged the secondary. The unit seems lost, not Revis, and the secondary was the reason for the loss in the AFC championship last year and I am pretty concerned about it.
I have to imagine it kills Ryan to have his Defense play at the level they have but they will need to get pressure on QB’s in the post season. All the mistakes I saw on the field yesterday seem to be able to be fixed. Missed tackles and bad coverage. That is just players not doing their job. Preparation, practice and getting back to the fundamentals should help them get back on track.
Be Happy and don’t listen to the hate. We “backed in” last year and we went to the AFC championship last year. This year we have more wins and a more confident QB. How far could we go now?
In the past few weeks, Darrelle Revis has faced Greg Jennings, Calvin Johnson, Andre Johnson, and Terrell Owens. Altogether, the four accounted for 6 receptions for 61 yards.
